Well here we are in the middle of summer. Where did the time go? We had several blizzards (lest we forget), a gigantic oil spill and now settling into the dog days of summer. I was standing in the post office line yesterday (long as usual) and many people were complaining about the service, you know, the wait. In the line were some people who were not American, one was a Frenchman and the other two where ladies from Ireland. As one heckler kept egging all of us on concerning our "wait", I noticed that the Frenchman was getting even a little more aggravated than us americans. The Irish ladies, however, were having some fun. First of all, they had an empty box that they were holding as they waited in the line. The heckler even commented, "You aren't mailing an empty box are you?" They said "Oh no, we just want to see if it is the right size for mailing. They waited patiently as the rest of us fumed. They were actually enjoying themselves! When they got up to the counter, they put the empty box up on the scale and said to the postal worker, "are we able to mail this box?" The postal worker looked at them a bit strangely and said, "yes, we can mail this box." They had a concern that it was too tall but the box was a square and again he said, "we can mail this, where is it going?" In great spirits they said, "Ireland, of course!" I left the post office and was getting ready to pull out when the two ladies drove in front of me, they slowed down and profusely apologized to me and were again very happy. I went home and commented to my husband that these two ladies were having such a good time in the post office line that it made me think. I thought this is the way to be living your life folks! If we could all just be happy with where we are and accept what is happening, (even if it is the dreaded post office line) how different the world? I want to send a huge "thank you" to those two ladies, who I'll probably never see again, for being examples of living life well. Bye for now.

Seasons Greetings
Season Greetings All!
As the holidays bear down on all of us, let's remember to be gentle to ourselves. Expectations of the "perfect" holiday can set us on a course for overload. Let's draw on simpler times when gathering around a table for dinner with our families and singing holiday songs made the heart fill with peace and concerns melt away. Here's to all who have passed on and the contributions they made to wonderful holidays of the past, you are dearly missed but not forgotten! Peace and Light, Kathleen
